8 Mistakes You’re Making When Pitching for Brand Collaborations

Have you skipped the concept of pitching altogether?

The truth is, pitching more than doubles your opportunities, which also increases your probability of landing a paid project. So let’s cover what you may be doing wrong when it comes to pitching your brand as a blogger or influencer to brands.

Mistake 1: You aren’t properly introducing yourself.

Would you walk up to a stranger and ask them to pay you without first shaking their hand and telling them a little bit about what you do?

This is obvious, I know, but you may be missing one of these key pieces:

  • Your full name. Introduce yourself fully.
  • What you do. Do you cover affordable fashion? Beauty hacks and secrets? Navigating life with three kids? Condense it into one quick and concise elevator-pitch-of-a-sentence!
  • Embedded links. Include both your blog and your Instagram. Chances are, if it’s there, they’ll click it.

Mistake #2: You aren’t presenting an “Ask” rather than an offer.

How many times have you pitched a brand and said something like, “Would X be interested in partnering together?” or “I’d love to work with X during this upcoming Summer season!”?
